A Schuylkill County man says he’s being blackmailed over a video of him pleasuring himself.
According to information released by State Police in Schuylkill Haven, the Auburn man says the person blackmailing him was met through Facebook.
Somehow, this person met online got their hands on a video of the victim providing self-gratification. Obviously, the relationship soured to the point that the person met online said they would “expose the victim” and share the video with others unless they got $2,000.
No charges have been filed in connection with this incident. Police say their investigation is ongoing.
Revenge Porn is a Crime in Pennsylvania
You may have heard the term before but didn’t know what it was. But this case is an example of ‘revenge porn’ and it’s a crime in Pennsylvania. It’s against the law to distribute sexually explicit images of another person without their consent in Pennsylvania.
If someone is found guilty in this case, they could face a maximum of 2 years in prison and a $5,000 fine, according to MyStateCollegeLawyer.com.
