State Police are investigating a recent pair of crossbow thefts at Dunham’s Sports in the Fairlane Village Mall near Pottsville.
According to information released Friday by State Police in Schuylkill Haven, the store at the mall was the victim of theft in separate incidents. In each, someone stole a crossbow and other items.
State Police Investigating Crossbow Thefts at Fairlane Village Mall
In the first incident, reported some time between Oct. 21 and Oct. 31, according to police info, someone stole a Ravin R26 crossbow, a micro game camera, a duffle bag, a pair of shears, and a needle-nose pliers.
That crossbow is valued at nearly $2,000. The camera has a price tag of about $220.
In that incident, the suspect is described as 6-feet tall white guy with a stocky build. He wore a mask at the time of the incident.
In a second incident also reported at Dunham’s, a man with the same description as the one from the first incident allegedly stole a Killer Instict 425X crossbow, an SOG day pack and an Under Armour sweatshirt. The crossbow is valued at nearly $500.
Police responded to the report of the theft on Nov. 3 but indicate the incident happened on a previous date. They do not indicate if the incidents are connected other than the suspect having a similar description.
