After reading this post, you’re going to wonder what the bacon was used for …
According to State Police in Schuylkill Haven, two men allegedly stole several items from the BG’s Value Market grocery store in Pine Grove back on Halloween.
The total value of the items stolen was $62.38, according to police.
But it really isn’t about how much was stolen. It’s about what was stolen.
The store put together a list of the items and it really constitutes the shopping list to end all shopping lists:
- 2 bottles of “TC lubrication” – $2.89 each
- 1 beige bar of Safeguard soap – $3.19
- 1 pack of John F. Martin bacon – $6.99
- 2 bottles of KY Jelly – $6.29 each
- 1 tube of Bengay – $4.99
- 1 Sensor razor – $8.99
- 1 bottle of Children’s Tylenol – $6.99
- 1 bottle of Aleve – $7.29
- 1 bottle of Suave men’s body wash – $2.09
- 1 bottle of Ayr saline nasal mist – $3.49
Police say the theft was reported on Halloween night, between 7:48 and 8:06 p.m.
Court records indicate that police have not made any arrests related to this incident.

I think they really wanted a pack of the John Martin breakfast sausage, grabbed the bacon by mistake. Its happens to the best of us!

The folks at John F. Martin make a quality luncheon meat, too. Typical story though … you go to the store to steal a pound of meat and you end up walking out with a bunch of different lubricants, razors, and some soap. Heard it once, heard it a million a time.

We’ll never find the culprits. Practically everyone is in pain or has sinus problems and the only clue is if they actually use the soap and aren’t stinking like bacon.
