A Westmoreland County man found himself in Schuylkill County Prison this weekend after what police describe as a drug-induced crash and home invasion.

Hoessler said he had been followed throughout the night. He advised police that he was calling from Tremont Township, near Raceway and Molleystown Rd.
Police told Hoessler to stay where he was until they could meet up with him. But Hoessler didn’t mind that instruction and left. He got on to Interstate 81 at Exit 108, going north. He got off the highway again at Exit 107. In doing so, he smacked a concrete divider with his 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier, blowing out one of his tires and damaging the front of his car.
Despite the flat tire and front-end damage, Hoessler kept driving, hopping on Route 209.
When he arrived in Porter Township, the Cavalier finally gave out on him, coming to a stop in front of a home.
That’s when police say Hoessler got out of his vehicle, went up to the home, smashed out a porch window and let himself inside. The homeowner called 9-1-1 and reported the break-in.
Police got to the scene in Porter Twp. and found Hoessler yelling out of a second-story bedroom window. They say Hoessler gave up and was taken into custody without incident.
Police say Hoessler was under the influence of some drug and was experiencing “extreme paranoia” at the time of his arrest.
Hoessler was arraigned before District Judge James Reiley and committed to Schuylkill County Prison.
