A Pennsylvania State Police officer was injured during a scuffle with a suspect earlier this weekend.
The incident happened before 3 a.m. Friday along Trumbo Rd. in Pine Grove Township.
Pine Grove Man Injures State Police Officer During Scuffle Friday
According to State Police in Schuylkill Haven, they arrived at a home on Trumbo Rd., responding to a call of a disturbance there.
When they arrived, police encountered 22-year-old Brandon Mearian.
Mearian quickly got agitated and confrontational with police. He made a move toward a trooper, trying to grab him by the jacket.
During the struggle, one State Police officer was injured.
Mearian was eventually taken into custody. Police hauled him in front of District Judge David Rossi on Friday morning. Rossi sent Mearian to Schuylkill County Prison on $100,000 bail. And that’s where he stays as of this report.
Mearian will be back in court for a preliminary hearing facing a felony charge of aggravated assault and misdemeanor charges of assault and resisting arrest.
