On the latest episode of the We the People of PA podcast, host Marcus Riddell continues to examine the state’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Specifically, Marcus looks at the new group called EAT – Entrepreneurs Against Tyranny – which is standing up for restaurant owners who are tired of the restrictions of being placed on their businesses.
“They’re there for the people who are truly suffering,” Marcus says. “They’ll deal with the hate mail and the Karens.”
Marcus breaks down the data and explores the truth behind the numbers being reported by the Pennsylvania Dept. of Health, including the state’s official response to potential false positive and false negative COVID tests.
This episode also looks at Governor Tom Wolf’s puzzling response to questions about high school sports and schools reopening at the end of this month.
Other topics discussed by Marcus on this episode of the We the People of PA podcast include:
- Mail-in voting in Pennsylvania
- Joe Biden’s fogginess as he makes another run for the White House

Tyranny, what a joke. We’re in the middle of a pandemic. Government is supposed to do something not sit there and twiddle their thumbs. You’re a bunch of sociopaths who would blindly kill people for profit. You’re DISGUSTING!

Yeah sure. Everyone sees color. A racist judges a person on their race not their character like you. A racist always tell you they don’t see color. What bullshit.

Obama’s character, not color, made him a poor President.
…instead of saying “a man”, people say “a white man, or, a black man”…they choose to discern due to color, rather than to see simply. BTW, do you know what color I am?…since you call me a racist?

No, Obama’s character was one of his best attributes. Trump’s downfall is his character and any sane person would say the same. I’m a Green Party member who didn’t like all Obama’s policies but I certainly would never judge him based on his character. You can’t put Obama and Trump in the same sentence when it comes to character. I’m sorry, you’re a racist. The next thing you’ll tell me is about all the black friends you have. So if you’re colorblind how do you even know they’re black. I also got into an argument with you about affirmative action. You called a man with a 150 plus i.q. and SAT scores high enough to get into Harvard who also got good grades there Odumba. So you think he just got into Harvard because he’s black and was stealing an opportunity away from a white person. He could have never got in there because of his merit or talent. You’re just trying to cover the fact that you’re a racist.

Affirmative Action has placed millions of unqualified minorities and African Americans ahead of qualified applicants, for jobs, college admissions, etc. The programs began in the 60s…Oblammo took advantage of it…it’s reverse racism, and Obummer was a master at it.
My IQ was measured at 144, and what, we’re supposed to look on Obummo as if he’s unique or overqualified to perform a task?…he’s a Chicago politician, period. Dirty and crooked as the day is long.

I can tell by talking to you that your I.Q. is definitely not 144. I was an enrichment and accelerated student in school and you’re nowhere near 130. Your problem solving and analytical ability isn’t in the top 1%. You have about average intelligence at best.

I can give stat after stat that proves white privilege exists. From how a white felon has a better chance of employment than a black person with no criminal background, bank loans, 1st time offenders and so on. It exist. That’s why economic justice is important. Racism has always exist in the system. Read Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith. They were called the race of labors. They were always considered a lesser people.

Whatever. Why don’t you just admit you’re for slavery. If it weren’t for liberals that’s what it would be. Well, because of corporate Dems who bend the knee to Reps it’s becoming that anyway. …if you owned and operated a business, and started all your employees at a minimum wage of $15/hr, you might quickly determine that your economic model, sustainability and profit margins would be fatally flawed and your business doomed for failure, total loss, and then you’d file for bankruptcy, thus perpetuating a cycle of dependency, victimization and the terrible pitfalls of Capitalism…when jn reality, there’d be no one to blame but yourself, your flawed economic approach, and poor decision-making.

You phase in a 15.hr min wage over a period of time. You just don’t go from 7.25 to 15 at one time. Also, m4a takes healthcare off the backs of small business, so it remains cost effective. You pay it mostly through personal taxes. 75% of the money is already in the system. It’s a simple reallocation of funds. And you also have to remember when you pay more, people can pay more taxes. You can’t tax people what they don’t have. Now you don’t have to subsidize people who can’t afford to live because they don’t make enough too. It ends up costing more the way you do things then we do. And when I say welfare state people automatically assume dependency. It’s not dependency at all because people pay into the system, they just get something back for their tax money. Healthcare, education and daycare. It’s not like your living off the system.

Actually, Tom Wolf wants to raise the minimum wage from $7.25 to $12 in one action. And there’s no money in the system for it. There is no “system” of which you speak. The money to pay these employees comes right from employers. They’re the ones who actually pay employees, not “the system” in your head.
Jason Bourne

I’m sure my storefront will make it a hell of a lot further than yours. I would have double the amount of customers you do. I’d double the market. It’s not all supply side economics. You know, you’re employees also happen to be the consumer. I get them out of debt. With you they just remain on the hamster wheel going nowhere fast.
Jason Bourne
August 26, 2020 at 1:28 pm
I get why he wants to raise min wage to 12/hr because he wants to raise it to the rate of inflation but a phase in plan would make more sense. It allows time for you business to adjust. Bernie’s living wage would be implemented over a 4 year period. The living wage is actually better for red states.
