North Schuylkill Football Player Jaden Leiby Suffers Serious Injury

We’re not reporting the extent of any injuries until we can confirm them.

Leiby was hurt in the third quarter of Friday’s game, playing defense making a tackle on a Pottsville player.

Prior to the injury, Leiby was having an epic night in the team’s biggest game of the season. Before halftime, Leiby took control of the game, scoring on touchdown runs of 1, 68, and 4 yards to give his Spartans a big lead over the Crimson Tide. He ran the ball 12 times for 138 yards before the half.

The game did carry on after his injury but the result obviously isn’t top priority the next day.

Shortly after the game, North Schuylkill’s athletic information staff updated their fans and paid respect to Leiby:

One fan writes, “Congrats Spartans And Wishing All The Very Best To Jaden Leiby My Thoughts and Prayers Are With You Buddy!!”

Another echoes the sentiment, saying, “Prayers for Jaden 🙏🏼 Spartan Nation is praying for you ❤️💙”

#PrayersFor6

In fact, fellow Schuylkill League and area teams are sending their thoughts and prayers to North Schuylkill, Leiby and his family, and to the Pottsville players who were affected by the serious on-field injury.

This fan tweeted out during the game, praying for the best for Leiby:

Jaden, you can do this.. one day at a time, one week at a time, one month at a time.. you will get better…Always look ahead, take deep breaths, and look all around you at the love everyone has for you. I never had a broken neck, just a broken back and 4 surgeries on it. The neurosurgeon told me to never look back each day but to wait a week or so and then look at how far you have come.

Wish I could bring you some of my homemade chicken soup but I live in Texas…so I will send instead Texas sized hugs, love, prayers, and well wishes. May you feel how much God and everyone loves you. May you know God will heal you.. Again, sending air hugs!
