A man currently jailed for allegedly stabbing his brother is facing charges after State Police say he provided a false identity during a 2024 arrest for urinating on a public sidewalk, concealing his true identity as a man slated for federal removal proceedings.
State Police say they filed the charges against the man, known to local authorities as Esteban Jaejuc, after discovering he is actually Gregorio Chen Suc, a Guatemalan national.
The false identification allegations stem from an incident on June 7, 2024, when State Police say they responded to W. Coal St. in Shenandoah for a report of an intoxicated man urinating on a public sidewalk.
A witness provided State Police with a video showing the man urinating on the sidewalk. State Police say they located the suspect sitting in the back of a red SUV, where he attempted to hide an open bottle of Corona beer behind his back.
State Police say the man smelled strongly of alcohol and had bloodshot, glassy eyes. When confronted via a translation app about the public urination, the man replied, “sorry,” State Police say.
Following that 2024 incident, State Police say the man provided the name Esteban Jaejuc and a birth date of Dec. 30, 1999.
In February 2026, State Police contacted U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) regarding the man’s identity. ICE confirmed that Esteban Jaejuc is an alias used by Chen Suc, State Police say.
ICE officials encountered Chen Suc in 2022 and informed him he was to undergo departmental removal proceedings, State Police say. Following that 2022 encounter, ICE reported having no further contact with him, and his whereabouts were unknown until State Police inquired this year.
State Police say they compared a 2022 ICE photograph of Chen Suc to a booking photo from the 2024 public intoxication arrest and confirmed they were the same person. The original charges from the 2024 incident were withdrawn in late February.
Two months later, on April 26, Shenandoah Police arrested the man in connection with an aggravated assault after he allegedly stabbed his brother in the neck.
During that arrest, the suspect’s brother identified him to Shenandoah Police as Esteban Suc-Juc. Shenandoah Police say the suspect also wrote his name in an officer’s notebook as Esteban Suc Juc, with a birth date of Nov. 30, 1999.
Following processing for the stabbing arrest at the State Police barracks in Frackville, the man was returned to Shenandoah Police to be arraigned on the assault charges.
Suc-Juc/Chen Suc/Jaejuc is now facing misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure and providing false identification to law enforcement as well as summary conts of public drunkenness, disorderly conduct, and restrictions on alcoholic beverages.
