One person died and another seriously injured in a one-vehicle crash along Route 443 in Schuylkill County Friday night.
State Police say 36-year-old Victoria Bailey, of Tamaqua, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash along Clamtown Rd. (Route 443) in Walker Township. A passenger in her vehicle, 37-year-old Keith Bailey, sustained serious injuries in the crash.
The crash occurred just west of Route 443’s intersection with Route 309 at about 9:30 p.m. Friday. Police say Victoria Bailey was driving the vehicle at the time of teh crash. While negotiating a left curve in the road, she lost control of the vehicle, entered the westbound lane and then re-entered the eastbound lane.
Bailey’s vehicle struck a utility pole near an embankment off the eastbound lane. It came to rest facing southeast.
Keith Bailey was rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem by Lehighton Ambulance with suspected serious, critical injuries.
