On Saturday, the 50th Leo F. Haley St. Patrick’s Day Parade stepped off in Pottsville.
Despite rather brisk conditions, a nice crowd turned out to celebrate the popular holiday here in Schuylkill County.
The parade in Pottsville is named in honor of Haley, a community organizer who first brought the idea of a St. Patrick’s Day Parade to the city after attending one in New York City in 1975.
This year, his grandchildren, Dan and Lorraine Koury, served as Grand Marshals.
