Schuylkill County Prison Warden Michael Buchanan announced Wednesday that there were currently no corrections officers off-duty or on restricted duty.
He made that announcement at the monthly meeting of Schuylkill County Prison Board on Feb. 11.
The Prison Board also made several personnel moves at Wednesday’s meeting, promoting one officer to a Lieutenant and two from part-time to full-time status.
Other notes from Buchanan’s State of the Prison report include:
👉 Peak census in January: 218; Low census: 189. Buchanan says there are no inmates being housed three to a cell.
👉 Average number of inmates housed in other counties: 53
👉 Currently, inmates are being housed at these prisons in counties with agreements with Schuylkill: Northumberland, 39; Centre, 4; Clinton 2.
