Vehicle crashes and power outages in Schuylkill County

We are tracking incidents involving emergency first responders as well as reported power outages during the snowstorm on Sunday, Jan. 25 in Schuylkill County.

Incident reports

Here is a collection of incident reports in Schuylkill County on Sunday, Jan. 25:

💥 7:25 a.m. @ BRANCH TOWNSHIP — A portion of Route 209 was closed Sunday morning due to a one-vehicle crash into a utility pole. Church Rd. was established as a detour route. According to the PPL service outage map, very few customers’ electricity service (1 as of last report) were affected by the crash.

💥 7:30 a.m. @ RYAN TOWNSHIP — A crash in Ryan Township knocked out electricity service to more than 800 PPL Electric customers in Ryan and Rush townships. According to emergency dispatches, a vehicle crashed into a utility pole. UPDATE: Service was restored Monday afternoon.

🚛 10:55 a.m. @ CASS TOWNSHIP — A disabled tractor-trailer has jackknifed on Sunbury Rd., in the area of Old Phoenix Rd. Police responding have requested Fire Police to the scene to help shut down the roadway.

🚛 2:20 p.m. @ TOWER CITY — A box truck was reported to have crashed into a guiderail but was freed temporarily without the need for Fire Police.

The following incidents are being reported on Monday, Jan. 26:

💥 10:58 a.m. @ TREMONT TOWNSHIP — A one-vehicle crash occurred at Blackwood Rd. and Tremont Rd. No injuries were reported. Fire police were requested at the scene.
