A Schuylkill County man was jailed early Friday morning after police say he bit, punched, and kicked a woman.
Shortly after 9:30 p.m., State Police say they were called to a home in Tower City for a reported domestic disturbance.
In the background, a 9-1-1 dispatcher told police they could hear screaming in the background. The alleged victim reportedly dispatch that Robert Paldino, 22, was having a “manic episode” at the time.
At the scene, police learned from the alleged victim that she and Paldino began verbally arguing at around 6 p.m. and that Paldino left the house to “cool off” for a bit.
However, when he returned, the argument continued and turned violent about 15 minutes later.
At that time, Paldino allegedly punched the alleged victim in the face, kicked her, and then bit her on the forearm and back of her leg. Police say the alleged victim had injuries consistent with those accusations.
Further, the alleged incident took place in front of two toddlers.
Paldino was arrested and taken before Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli. He was arraigned on misdemeanor charges of simple assault and endangering the welfare of children as well as a summary offense for harassment.
Tarantelli set bail at $5,000 cash and remanded Paldino to Schuylkill County Prison.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 19 before Judge Christian Lengel.
