Pottsville Rotary Honors December Students of the Month

Rotary Honors Six Local Seniors

The Pottsville Rotary Club recognized its December Students of the Month at the Club’s weekly meeting on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Vito’s Coal Fired Restaurant in St. Clair.

Congratulations to the following students:

  • Pottsville Area High School: William Davis and Justine Siminitus
  • Minersville Area High School: Marley Zimmerman and Dante Carr
  • Nativity BVM High School: Brody Sophy and Chloe Zulick

Pottsville Area High School

William Davis

William Davis, son of Tara and William Davis of Port Carbon, is a member of the Varsity Soccer, Varsity Cross Country, Varsity Track and Field, and Varsity Winter Track teams. He is also involved with the National Honor Society, Key Club, Aevidum, and Tide TV.

William volunteers with Big Impact and serves as a youth soccer coach. After graduation, he plans to attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and pursue a career in Aeronautical Engineering.

Justine Siminitus

Justine Siminitus, daughter of David and Karen Siminitus of Pottsville, is captain of the soccer, basketball, softball, and majorette squads. She also runs track, serves as class president, student council president, and AID president. She is an anchor on TideTV, yearbook editor, and member of the Schuylkill County Junior Advisory Board.

Her community service includes delivering meals to families in need, delivering medicine to the elderly for a local pharmacy, and teaching majorette lessons to younger students. Justine plans to continue her education at a four-year university, majoring in biology, with the goal of becoming a physician.

Minersville Area High School

Marley Zimmerman

Marley Zimmerman, daughter of Kari Beury and Joshua Zimmerman of Minersville, serves as President of the Spanish Club, Co-Chair of Student Council, Secretary of Art Club, and Treasurer of Drama Club. She participates in Youth Summit, Diversity Club, and National Honor Society, and is a member of Cross Country, Track & Field, and the Varsity Cheerleading Squad, where she serves as Captain and was named an All-American Cheerleader.

Marley has volunteered with Minersville Youth Cheerleading, the Youth Track Project, and the HOBY Youth Leadership Conference. She plans to attend college to study Biology.

Dante Carr

Dante Carr, son of Matt and Katie Carr of Minersville, serves as Class President and is active in Student Council, Aevidum Club, and TV Studio. He is also a member of the Football, Basketball, Baseball, and Track & Field teams.

Dante volunteers with Minersville Youth Basketball, assists in placing flags on veterans’ graves, and helps clean local cemeteries. After graduation, he plans to attend the University of Central Florida, where he will continue his athletic career.

Nativity BVM High School

Brody Sophy

Brody Sophy, son of Eric and Calla Sophy of Newtown, is a Board Member of the Diversity Club, helping to plan events that promote inclusivity. He is also a member of Aevidum, Drama Club (Stage Crew), Envirothon, and the National Honor Society.

Outside of school, Brody serves as Director of Religious Education, lector, and consistory board member at St. John’s Church in Newtown. He also volunteers at the local fire company’s annual basket raffle and has assisted with Assumption B.V.M.’s musical production. After graduation, he plans to pursue studies to become a Radiologic Technologist.

Chloe Zulick

Chloe Zulick, daughter of Jason and Christina Zulick of Pottsville, is active in Diversity Club, Aevidum, Music Ministry, Chorus, Drama Club, Envirothon, Math Club, and participates in Basketball and Softball.

Her volunteer work includes serving as an assistant prep teacher, vacation Bible school helper, and altar server, and participating in Stuff the Bus initiatives. Chloe plans to attend Allegheny College to double major in Environmental and Political Sciences and pursue a career in Environmental Policy with the government.

The Pottsville Rotary Club congratulates these outstanding students for their leadership, scholarship, and service to their schools and communities.
