Schuylkill County Women Charged in Domestic Assault Cases

Two Schuylkill County women are facing domestic assault charges following separate incidents earlier this month.

Police in Tamaqua say they were called to a home on W. Ridge St. in Coaldale on the evening of Nov. 16 for a reported domestic disturbance in progress.

As police arrived at the scene, they say they encountered the victim of this alleged incident who had a tissue stuffed in his now and small lacerations on his face.

The victim reportedly told police that he and Samantha McFadden, 20, were engaged in a verbal argument.

When police asked about the tissue and the cuts on his face, the victim reportedly said that they were the result of a prior incident a day earlier that wasn’t reported.

Police say they took McFadden into custody. While doing so, a search allegedly revealed a pink sock in a backpack she was carrying. That sock contained a meth pipe with burn residue, police allege.

A glass vial also with residue in it was also recovered during that search, police say.

McFadden has been charged with a misdemeanor for simple assault and a charge of possessing drug paraphernalia. She was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge AJ Serina later that night and bail was set at $5,000 unsecured.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 16 before Judge Stephen Bayer.

Estranged Wife Allegedly Attacks Husband

State Police say they were called to a reported domestic disturbance in Auburn on Nov. 25.

The victim of this alleged incident reportedly told police that he was called by his estranged wife to come fix a stove. When he arrived at their home, he said Vennetta Kramer, 48, began slapping him in the face.

The strikes reportedly knocked the victim’s glasses off and caused him to bleed from his ear, neck, and nose, police say.

As the victim tried getting away, Kramer allegedly followed him and continued assaulting him.

The victim’s sister, who’d been asked to accompany him to fix the stove, reportedly intervened to break up the fight.

Police have charged Kramer with a misdemeanor count of simple assault and summary counts of harassment and criminal mischief.

Kramer was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge David Plachko, who set bail at $10,000 unsecured.

A preliminary hearing at District Court in Orwigsburg has not been scheduled.
