A warrant for the arrest of a Schuylkill County man was issued earlier this week following an alleged domestic dispute.
Police in Orwigsburg say they spoke with a woman, the reported victim of this incident, at about 9:15 p.m. on Nov. 25. She initially did not want to identify herself but eventually did.
The victim reportedly told police that she and John Singley, 46, of North Manheim Township, had been arguing throughout the day and the situation became increasingly hostile.
Singley was asked to leave the victim’s home several times but he refused. The situation then became physical, the victim reported to police, when Singley grabbed her hair repeatedly and hit her on the back of the head.
The victim told police that Singley did stop assaulting her when she complied with his command to stop speaking to him in a certain manner but he eventually continued his attack, pushing his fist into her throat and then continued to hit her on the back of the head.
Attempts to contact Singley at his home were unsuccessful, police report, and as of this post publishing, he’s not been arrested.
Singley is facing felony charges of aggravated assault and strangulation as well as a misdemeanor count of simple assault and a summary offense for harassment.
