Schuylkill County Prison Warden Michael Buchanan detailed spending at his facility during the month of October at a recent meeting of the Prison Board.
For the entire month, expenses at the Prison totaled $1,052,571.78. Total revenue was at $21,715.76.

In October, the highest population total at Schuylkill County Prison was 225, Buchanan said. The lowest was 200.
Buchanan said, as of Nov. 13, there were no triple-celling situations at the prison. The average number of outsourced inmates was 55. At that time, there were 50 (34 in Northumberland County, 11 in Centre County, and 5 in Clinton County).

The warden, when asked, said priority is being given to prisons closer to Schuylkill County for outsourcing inmates.
For staffing at the prison, there are four corrections officers and one lieutenant on extended leave and four corrections officers on restricted duty. There are currently four part-time vacancies.
