Second Suspect in 7-Eleven Robbery in Pottsville ID’d, Wanted by Police

Jeraldo Guadalupe-Figueroa was second suspect, police say

An arrest warrant has been issued for a second suspect in an alleged strongarm robbery at the 7-Eleven store in Pottsville earlier this year.

Police in the city are looking for 30-year-old Jeraldo Guadalupe-Figueroa, of Saint Clair, saying he’s the second person that stole $100 in cash from a man at the ATM inside the store on April 22.

Guadalupe-Figueroa is wanted on charges of robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.

At about 3:40 p.m. that day, police were called to the convenience store at E. Norwegian St. and Route 61 in Pottsville. The victim of this alleged robbery said two Hispanic men began heckling him as he attempted to withdraw what he said was his last $100 in his bank account.

A heavyset man – now identified as Guadalupe-Figueroa – reportedly said to the victim, “Did $40 come out of that ATM? That’s my money.”

Guadalupe-Figueroa and the other suspect, who has since turned himself in to police and has been identified Benjamin Rosario, fled the scene after getting the victim’s cash.

Rosario told police he got into his vehicle and left while Guadalupe-Figueroa fled on foot. He reportedly described Guadalupe-Figueroa as a co-worker whom he didn’t know and was with him because he needed a ride to the Turkey Hill in Port Carbon.

Charges against Rosario of conspiracy to commit robbery and conspiracy to receive stolen property, both third-degree felonies, are pending in Schuylkill County Court of Common Pleas. A continuance was granted ahead of a trial that was scheduled to begin in September.
