Pennsylvania State Police have provided an update on the conditions of the two Troopers shot Wednesday by a retail theft suspect in Franklin County.
One of the Troopers has been released from Wellspan York Hospital and another has had their condition upgraded to serious from critical.
The Troopers were shot by a retail theft suspect Wednesday evening as he and two female suspects fled the scene of a Dick’s Sporting Goods store in East Guilford Township, Franklin County.
The male suspect was shot dead by Troopers. Two female suspects surrendered at the scene and were arrested.
The suspects fled in a vehicle toward Interstate 81. Troopers quickly spotted the getaway vehicle and a pursuit ensued, police say. Spike strips were deployed and stopped the vehicle on I-81 South at Exit 3.
The two Troopers were airlifted to Wellspan York Hospital after they were hit by the male suspect.
The Troop H Major Case Team and Franklin County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the incident.
Names of the Troopers and the suspects have not yet been released.
