Accused killer Andrew Peleschak was arraigned Wednesday afternoon on charges of first- and third-degree murder.
Peleschak, 56, is accused of fatally shooting his wife, Natalie, 55, on the night of Oct. 4 at their home on S. Center St. in Frackville.
He appeared before Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli on Wednesday afternoon. Peleschak appeared in a blue hospital gown and bright yellow no-slip, hospital-issued socks.
He featured a large gash on the top of his head, presumably where he attempted to shoot himself to death after allegedly shooting his wife.
At his arraignment, Peleschak answered questions simply with a “Yes” or an “I understand” as Tarantelli read charges and further instructions.
Bail was denied and Peleschak was ordered to remain in Schuylkill County Prison pending a preliminary hearing currently scheduled for next Wednesday.
According to a police affidavit, Peleschak phoned 9-1-1 to say that he’d shot his wife and then shot himself. As police arrived, Peleschak was found bleeding profusely from his head and told authorities that his wife was inside the home and dead.
Peleschak was treated at the scene by EMS personnel before getting airlifted to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, for further treatment.
His wife was discovered inside their home. She had suffered a fatal shot to the head. Peleschak admitted he also shot his wife in the vagina prior to shooting her in the head.
Peleschak allegedly admitted to police that he shot his wife after seeing messages on her phone that implied her infidelity.
