It’s a special Saturday edition of Furiday Friends on Coal Region Canary!
Each week, we join with Hillside SPCA to highlight adoptable pets hoping for their forever homes.
Opening your heart through adoption gives animals the fresh start they deserve—and rewards you with a loyal companion in return.
This week, meet Cheddar and Debbie, two lovable friends ready to bring warmth and joy into their new families’ lives.
Debbie

Debbie is a 1-year-old gray tabby with something extra—literally! She’s polydactyl, which means she has adorable extra toes to go along with her sweet personality.
One of the friendliest cats you’ll ever meet, Debbie came to the shelter as a stray but quickly showed she’s full of love. She’s spayed, good with other cats, and can be dog-tested if needed.
Debbie is the perfect mix of playful and affectionate, and she’s ready to bring her charm (and her mitten-paws!) into a forever home.
Cheddar

Cheddar is an 8-year-old golden lab with a heart as big as her fluffy coat. She’s spayed, microchipped prior to adoption, up to date on shots, and ready to bring her loyal, loving spirit into a forever home.
This sweet girl is gentle, extremely friendly, and would make a wonderful companion for kids. She’s likely to do well with cats, too. Cheddar is known for her adorable quirks—like carrying her food bowl to bed—and for her love of lounging, especially at this stage in her life.
If you’re looking for a devoted, easygoing friend who will fill your days with love (and maybe a little silliness), Cheddar is the perfect match!
