Downtown Orwigsburg will come alive this Saturday, Sept. 6, as the Orwigsburg Area Business and Professional Association hosts its annual Heritage Day celebration from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free, family-friendly event promises a full day of history, entertainment, food, and community spirit.
America250PA Exhibit: History in Motion
A highlight of this year’s Heritage Day is the America250PA Mobile Experiential Unit, presented by the Orwigsburg Historical Society. The traveling installation honors Pennsylvania’s role in the nation’s upcoming 250th birthday. Visitors can step inside to enjoy:
- Pennsylvania Pursuit – a fun and educational trivia game
- Keystone Quest – a retro-style video game
- The Commonwealth Chronicles – a digital storytelling booth
Classic Fun for All Ages
The streets of Orwigsburg will be filled with attractions, including:
- Steel Pony Car Show
- Schaeffer’s Classic Motorcycles
- Leiby’s Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides
- Sabo Irish Dancers
- Danni Long Legs the stilt walker
- Bounce house and games at Kimmel’s Evangelical Free Church
- Kids crafts with Janice Blair
- Face painting with Brenda Binns
Festival Food and Drink
Festival-goers are encouraged to come hungry, with a wide selection of food and drink vendors on hand:
- Old-fashioned birch beer and popcorn from OABPA
- Fresh produce, cider, and slushies from Stein’s Farm Market
- Fudge and refreshments from Young Life Schuylkill County
- Bubble tea and vegan-friendly meals from Atomic Kitchen Food Truck
- Funnel cakes and fried Oreos from Rainbow Hose Company
- Grilled favorites from The Traveling Curbside Grill

Live Music on Two Stages
Music will play throughout the day on two stages:
- M&T Bank Stage
- 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.: Jeremiah James
- 1–3 p.m.: Zenith
- Market & Liberty Street Stage
- 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.: Coal Fired Ramblers (Bluegrass)
- 1–3 p.m.: Tommy Dee

Heritage Day also features dozens of vendors and artisans, including:
