A Schuylkill County man is facing charges following an alleged domestic violence incident earlier this week.
Court documents show that on Sept. 1, shortly after 6:30 p.m., police in Schuylkill Haven were called to an apartment on Center Ave. for a report of an assault.
Police say they spoke with a woman who said that she’d been engaged in an argument with Jonathan Gomez, 25, of Schuylkill Haven. During the argument, the victim said she tried to shut the door to her residence as Gomez was leaving.
Gomez then shoved the woman, knocking her backwards. While she was on the ground, the victim told police that Gomez kicked her in the thigh. The fall resulted in wrist and arm pain.
Police have charged Gomez with simple assault and harassment. Gomez was arraigned on these charges Thursday morning before Magisterial District Judge AJ Serina. He was released on $5,000 unsecured bail and must appear at a preliminary hearing scheduled for Sept. 23.
