Police are asking for the public’s help with an investigation into a hit-and-run crash in Schuylkill County late last month.
According to information from State Police-Frackville, the crash occurred on Interstate 81-South on July 28 at about 6:20 p.m. The crash reportedly happened near Mile Marker 118.9 in Cass Township.
Police say a 2004 Honda Civic driven by a 31-year-old Hazleton woman was in the right southbound lane. At that time, a white Ford Focus was also in the southbound lane and rear-ended the Civic.
The Hazleton woman lost control of her vehicle upon impact and traveled off the interstate and into a wooded area.
Whoever was driving the Ford Focus initially stopped but then fled the scene.
The Hazleton woman was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries she sustained in the crash.
Police say they believe a male was behind the wheel of the Ford Focus.
