A Schuylkill County man is facing charges of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine.
Alex King, 57, of Minersville, was arraigned on Thursday before Magisterial District Judge David Plachko. He’s being charged with felony possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, and misdemeanor offenses for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
According to court documents, a search warrant was executed on King’s residence on Carbon St. in Minersville back on May 1 by State Police and the Schuylkill County District Attorney’s Office.
Inside King’s bedroom, authorities say they found “numerous plastic bags” containing methamphetamine, cash, and drug paraphernalia. The way in which the meth was when it was found inside King’s room leads authorities to believe that it was not for personal use, rather for resale.
The amount of meth found in King’s bedroom is not disclosed in court documents.
Plachko set bail at $50,000 unsecured, at the request of the DA’s Office.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 12 before Plachko.
