Pottsville Man Jailed, Charged with Sexual Assault of Minor

A Pottsville man was jailed Wednesday after he allegedly confessed to having inappropriate sexual contact with a minor for several years.

According to information released by Pottsville Bureau of Police, Raymond Hall, 56, was taken into custody Wednesday and charged with four counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, four counts of indecent assault, incest, indecent exposure, endangering the welfare of children, and corruption of minors.

Police say a two-day investigation was launched in conjunction with the Schuylkill County District Attorney’s Office after the minor allegedly came forward with information regarding the abuse they suffered.

During questioning, Hall allegedly admitted that he had been having sexual contact with the minor at his residence in the city and at his auto body shop in Palo Alto over the course of several years.

Hall was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker. Kilker set bail at $250,000 and remanded him to Schuylkill County Prison.
