Schuylkill County Woman Accused of Biting Hospital Staff Member

A Schuylkill County woman allegedly bit a female staff member at a hospital in Pottsville early Friday morning.

According to court documents, police were called to Lehigh Valley Hospital-East in Pottsville shortly after midnight Friday.

At the hospital, police learned that a “technical partner” of the hospital had been bitten and then hit in the stomach by a patient.

The staff member was helping to restrain Chrystina Hosier, 35, of Pottsville, due to what are being described as “involuntary body movements” while they attempted to draw blood from the patient.

As this staff member was holding Hosier, the patient bit her on the arm, causing an abrasion. Hosier then allegedly hit that same staff member in the stomach as she flailed her elbow and shoulder. This resulted in the staff member experiencing “substantial pain.”

Hosier has been charged with aggravated assault and simple assault.
