Antlerless Deer License Sales to Begin Monday with New Requirements

First round begins June 23 with updated ID requirements.

Hunters planning to purchase antlerless deer licenses for the 2025-26 season in Schuylkill County will face updated procedures and a new sales schedule, according to an announcement from the Pennsylvania Game Commission and the Schuylkill County Treasurer’s Office.

The first round of antlerless license sales for Pennsylvania residents begins Monday, June 23. Eligible hunters can obtain one license for the Wildlife Management Unit (WMU) of their choice, depending on availability. Sales will be available at the Schuylkill County Treasurer’s Office, through the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) website, or via any authorized in-store license issuing agent.

Beginning this year, hunters must provide a Customer Identification (CID) number or a valid driver’s license number to obtain license information. Social Security numbers will no longer be accepted as a form of identification.

The Schuylkill County Treasurer’s Office will open at 8 a.m. on the first day of each sales round.

Non-residents may join residents in purchasing a license starting Monday, July 7. The second round opens Monday, July 28, with a limit of two licenses per person, subject to availability in each WMU. A third round begins Monday, August 11, increasing the limit to three, and includes Deer Management Assistance Program (DMAP) tags. The fourth and final round begins Monday, August 25, allowing up to six licenses. Additional licenses, up to 15 total, may be available in WMUs 5C and 5D.

Disabled veterans and active-duty military personnel within 60 days of honorable discharge may purchase licenses at any PGC office or at the Schuylkill County Treasurer’s Office for $6.97. Members of the Reserves or National Guard are not eligible for this special rate.

The Pennsylvania Game Commission plans to issue reminder mailings to registered disabled veterans and qualifying landowners. Additional information is available at www.pgc.com.
