SCORE Volunteers Provide Mentorship to Entrepreneurs Across Schuylkill and Berks Counties

SCORE Berks and Schuylkill County is highlighting the impact of its volunteer mentors during National Volunteer Month, citing their role in helping local entrepreneurs grow their businesses and strengthen the regional economy.

In fiscal year 2024, SCORE Berks and Schuylkill County volunteers assisted 184 entrepreneurs through 385 one-on-one mentoring sessions.

“SCORE is the most effective source of small business mentoring in the U.S.,” says Willis Kanaley, co-chair of SCORE Berks and Schuylkill County. “We are proud to be making a positive difference right here in our local community.”

According to SCORE data, entrepreneurs who receive three or more hours of mentoring report higher revenues and greater business growth. In addition to mentoring, SCORE Berks and Schuylkill County provides resources for entrepreneurs at all stages of their business journey.

“We are grateful to the more than 10,000 SCORE volunteers nationwide who selflessly dedicate their time and business expertise to help entrepreneurs achieve their dreams,” says SCORE CEO Bridget Weston.

National Volunteer Month is recognized every April and encourages participation in volunteer efforts across communities. SCORE is using the occasion to promote its mission and invite new volunteers to join as mentors.
