Driver License Center in Schuylkill Haven to Close Next Week for Renovations

The Driver License Center in Schuylkill Haven will be closed for two weeks, starting Monday, for renovations.

According to PennDOT, the lone Driver License Center in Schuylkill County will be getting an interior update, with new flooring, furniture, and an extra photo system. PennDOT says this should improve customer service at this location.

Renovations will force the facility to close from Monday, Feb. 24, until Saturday, March 8.

“We realize this may be a temporary inconvenience while we work to enhance our facility and services. To minimize service impacts to our Schuylkill Haven area customers, we will offer expanded services at other nearby locations to ensure continued access to driver licensing services during the renovations,” PennDOT Driver and Vehicle Services Deputy Sect. Kara Templeton says.

The employees from the Schuylkill Haven location will be temporarily assigned to work at the DLC in Shamokin. That Shamokin location will operate four days a week during the renovation period at Schuylkill Haven: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:15 p.m.

If you’ve got a scheduled driving exam at the Schuylkill Haven location during the renovation period, you’ll be contacted and offered the same date and time at the Shamokin location.
