Electric service to about 1,200 homes and businesses in Schuylkill County remains out into late Monday morning.
Many of the outages, as of about 11:30 a.m. are in Pottsville and South Manheim and West Brunswick townships. New power outages have occurred since early Monday morning when the total for Schuylkill County was just in the hundreds.
Strong winds have moved into the area ahead of a cold front. These strong winds are expected to produce gusts up to 60 mph. A Wind Advisory is in effect until 4 p.m. today.
Across the entire area served by PPL Electric, there are about 13,000 power outages being reported.
