A Schuylkill County man is behind bars accused of sex crimes against children.
Police in Pottsville say they were contacted Jan. 3 to investigate and during an initial interview, they learned that two children, ages 8 and 5, claimed that Michael Poslosky, 30, of Pottsville, had sexually assaulted them.
Safety measures were taken immediately to ensure that the children would not have contact with Poslosky, police say.
A forensic interview was conducted at a Child Advocacy Center. Police also conducted a follow-up interview. During those sessions, police heard details on how Poslosky allegedly sexually assaulted both children. He was also accused of committing more sex crimes against the older of the two children.
Based on the information gleaned in those interviews and their investigation, police have charged Poslosky with numerous felonies, including five first-degree counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, one second-degree count of aggravated indecent assault of a child less than 13 years old, and a third-degree count for corruption of minors.
Poslosky has also been charged with misdemeanor counts of indecent assault of a child less than 13 years old, indecent exposure, and corruption of a minor. He was arraigned before Magisterial District Court Judge James Reiley on Wednesday afternoon. Reiley set bail at $250,000 and Poslosky was remanded to Schuylkill County Prison.
