A Schuylkill County man was jailed Thursday after a drug raid at his residence allegedly uncovered methamphetamine and psilocybin mushrooms.
Corey Vanetten, 48, of Schuylkill Haven, is charged with felony possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was remanded to Schuylkill County Prison after on-call District Magistrate Edward Tarentelli set bail at $75,000 earlier today.
The Schuylkill County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force, State Police, and Schuylkill Haven Police reportedly began investigating Vanetten in January, suspecting he was selling meth from his home at 28 Parkway in the borough.
Police say they obtained a search warrant for Vanetten’s property on Wednesday and executed it earlier today. Vanetten along with two other occupants were immediately detained as police arrived. His home, police say, was in “deplorable condition.”
A search of the property reportedly yielded a quantity of methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, and drug paraphernalia. While being questioned, Vanetten allegedly admitted to authorities that he was selling meth from his home.
Additional narcotics charges will be filed at a later date against another male located inside the residence, the DA’s Office says.
