A Schuylkill County man is facing animal neglect charges after three dogs were found underweight and abandoned in a home.
According to State Police-Frackville, three dogs left under the care of 45-year-old Christopher Slater were found abandoned in a home on S. White St. in Shenandoah earlier this month.
Police say the dogs were not given an appropriate amount of found and had lost a substantial amount of weight.
All three dogs – now named Venus, Saturn, and Mars – were surrendered to Hillside SPCA near Pottsville and are now receiving care, according to shelter staff.
Coal Region Canary recently featured Mars in its Rescue Crew adoption series. To learn more about her, follow this link.
Charges against Slater have not yet been docketed, based on a search of court records.
