Schuylkill County Woman, With Children in Tow, Allegedly Admits to Intentionally Crashing Into Parked Car

Nush allegedly said she had a mental breakdown

A Schuylkill County woman was jailed Thursday after she allegedly admitted to crashing her vehicle – with her children inside – into a parked vehicle.

State Police say they were called to Rose Ave. in Port Carbon shortly before 9 p.m. on Thrusday for a report of a motor vehicle crash and disturbance.

At the scene, police say they spoke with the victim of the incident. She said that her car was struck by a vehicle driven by Cassidy Nush, 29, of Pottsville.

Police say they spoke with Nush at the scene. During their interview, police say Nush admitted to having a mental breakdown and crashing into the victim’s vehicle on purpose.

Nush’s two children, ages 5 and 1, were in her vehicle at the time of the crash, police say.

Video surveillance from a nearby property reportedly shows Nush putting her vehicle in reverse and then driving toward the unoccupied vehicle owned by the victim and crashing into it.

Nush was charged with two felony counts of endangering the welfare of children and a felony count of criminal mischief. She was also charged with two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment and summary counts of reckless driving and disorderly conduct.

Just before midnight, Nush was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Christian Lengel, who set bail at 10% of $10,000 and remanded her to Schuylkill County Prison.
