A man is facing a felony forgery charge after he tried to buy some groceries from a Schuylkill County Dollar General.
Police in Pottsville say they were called to the store on E. Arch St. on Jan. 3.
At the scene, police learned that a man tried to use a fake $20 bill to buy milk and cereal.
The suspect – later identified as 36-year-old Jeremy Sasso, of Lafayette, New Jersey – had already left the store. Witnesses reportedly told police they saw Sasso leave in a blue Jeep.
Police say they were able to make contact with Sasso and he admitted to having the bogus $20 bill. He allegedly said he got it from a local Turkey Hill.
Sasso is facing a second-degree felony forgery charge. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
