Welcome to the Canary Rescue Crew on Coal Region Canary. Every day, we are putting the spotlight on an adoptable pet from shelters and rescues across Schuylkill County waiting for a forever home.
Today’s crew member is Harold.
Harold is a 5½-year-old orange tabby who’s been with Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA for more than 2 years but he hasn’t let that dim his spirit.
Picked up as a stray and left at our facility, Harold has blossomed into a sweet, social guy who thrives on the dog side, happily mingling with pups and fellow felines alike.
He’s confident, curious, and absolutely loves spending time outside, soaking up sunshine and exploring the world. Harold’s looking for a home that appreciates his adventurous streak and gives him the freedom to be his friendly, independent self.
He’s ready to trade shelter life for a backyard and a best friend.

Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA is a no-kill shelter serving Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. Their mission is to protect animal welfare through compassionate medical care, spay/neuter advocacy, and promoting suitable adoptions. They are dedicated to the humane treatment of all domestic animals and never euthanize merely for lack of space or time limits.
