National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Cold Watch for Schuylkill County.
This Extreme Cold Watch goes into effect Friday night and extends through Sunday morning.
Forecasters say dangerously cold wind chills will pose serious health risks to people who are exposed to the air for too long. Prolonged exposure could lead to hypothermia dn frostbite.
For Schuylkill County, the Wind Chill Factor will drop to as low as -20.
A warning or advisory may be issued in the near future.
On Friday, a clipper system will drop up to an inch of snow on Schuylkill County. Snow may begin falling here after 1 p.m., NWS says.
A second shot of snow later Friday may not lead to any accumulations here but it will rush in a blast of arctic air for Saturday.
