Schuylkill County Woman Charged with Selling Meth to Informant

A Schuylkill County woman is facing drug-related charges after she allegedly sold 3 grams of meth to an informant in November.

Kaitlynn Stephanie Houser, 33, of Tamaqua, was charged after police allegedly used a confidential informant to purchase methamphetamine from her at a local convenience store.

Police say the investigation began on Nov. 17, when an informant identified a woman they knew as “Kaitlynn Houser” as a person who sold methamphetamine. The informant showed investigators a social media profile under the name “Kaitlynn Alsing,” which police confirmed belonged to Houser.

The informant reportedly exchanged numerous messages and phone calls with Houser via social media and text. During these exchanges, Houser allegedly indicated she would meet the informant after she was finished “weighing it out.”

Police state that Houser arranged to meet the informant at a convenience store on Broad St. in Tamaqua. The informant was provided with $100 in marked cash.

Just before 11 p.m., police say they transported the informant to the store. Roughly 10 minutes later, Houser arrived in a gold Toyota. Houser reportedly exited her vehicle and briefly entered the passenger seat of a black GMC SUV parked nearby before entering the convenience store to meet the informant.

A few minutes later, the informant returned to the investigators’ vehicle and turned over a clear pink baggie that police say contained a crystallized substance. The informant stated they gave Houser the $100 in exchange for the baggie.

A field test of the substance yielded a positive indication for methamphetamine, police say. The evidence was subsequently sent to a laboratory for formal analysis.

On Dec. 16, police say lab results confirmed the substance was methamphetamine, weighing 3.05 grams.

A warrant has been issued for Houser’s arrest. She’s being charged with a felony counts of possession with intent to deliver and criminal use of a communication facility as well as a misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled substance.
