A Schuylkill County man and convicted sex offender is wanted by police after he allegedly failed to complete his mandatory sex offender registration verification and moved out of a local motel without notice.
Police in West Mahanoy Township say they received a notification on Tuesday from the State Police regarding Michael Blanco Jr., 46, whose last known address is Frackville.
Blanco is a Tier 2 sex offender on the Megan’s Law registry following a conviction for indecent assault in 2014. Under Pennsylvania Megan’s Law, he is required to register his address for 25 years.
State Police say Blanco missed a required verification window between Dec. 22-31. He was required to report to the State Police barracks to verify his address during that time.
Blanco’s last known address was listed as Room 30 of the Budget Inn in Frackville.
On Tuesday, police say they went to the Budget Inn to verify Blanco’s residence. At the motel, police spoke with a manager who said Blanco had moved out of the room approximately three weeks ago.
The manager reportedly told police that Blanco had moved back to Reading but couldn’t provide a forwarding address.
A PennDOT records check reportedly showed a driver’s license issued to Blanco in June 2022 with an address in Lancaster.
