Schuylkill County Man Jailed on Domestic Assault Charges

Mordan-Sosa briefly jailed on assault charges

A Schuylkill County man was briefly jailed earlier this month after being charged in a case of suspected domestic violence.

Police in Shenandoah say they were called to an apartment on N. Main St. on Dec. 16 for a reported domestic dispute.

At the scene, police say they spoke with the victim of the alleged incident. She told police that Emil Mordan-Sosa, 22, had struck her in the face, pushed her to the floor, and pulled her by her hair.

Police say the victim displayed injuries consistent with her account of Mordan-Sosa’s alleged actions. Mordan-Sosa was taken into custody and arraigned on two counts of simple assault and one count of harassment.

Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker set bail at $10,000 and remanded Mordan-Sosa to Schuylkill County Prison.

Mordan-Sosa posted bond the following day and was released.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 29, 2026, in front of Kilker.
