Schuylkill County Commissioners recently approved two agreements with Pottsville Parking Authority for spaces in the city next year.
In total, Schuylkill County government will pay $78,436.80 for parking permits at Capitol parking garage and along the 200 block of Laurel Blvd.
On Nov. 26, the Commissioners approved a motion to pay for 112 parking permits at the Capitol parking garage and 14 permits along Laurel Blvd. These permits are for employees that work at the Human Services complex and the Schuylkill County Children & Youth building.
The total for that agreement was $63,352.80.
Then, on Dec. 24, the Commissioners approved another agreement with Pottsville Parking Authority for Adult Probation employees. In that motion, the Commissioners OK’d paying for 25 spots at the Capitol deck and 5 spaces in the 200 block of Laurel Blvd.
For Adult Probation, the total parking spend is $15,084.
Chief Probation Officer CJ Begansky told Commissioners at their Work Session meeting on Dec. 17 that his office is getting 10 more leases than it did in 2025.
Leases from the Parking Authority cost $41.90 per month. That cost did not change year over year.
