Schuylkill County Man Charged with Another DUI, Allegedly Said He Drank “Enough to (Bleep) Him Over”

Police: Krammes’ BAC at 0.328%

A Schuylkill County man is facing another set of DUI charges following a traffic stop in Schuylkill Haven last month.

Police in Schuylkill Haven say they initiated a traffic stop on Dean Krammes Jr.’s vehicle at about 1 a.m. on Nov. 29 because its license plate lights were not illuminated.

Before the stop occurred, police say they learned the Krammes had a DUI-suspended license.

After Krammes eventually stopped his vehicle, following a short pursuit, he reportedly got out of his vehicle and began walking toward a home he said was his.

Police say Krammes showed signs of being under the influence and smelled of alcohol, too. He eventually reportedly told police that he’d been drinking at a friend’s house in Cressona earlier but that was only after initially denying having had anything to drink that night.

First, he reportedly told police he’d had “enough” to drink that night and then when asked again, he said he had “enough to (BLEEP) me over.”

Throughout the traffic stop, police say Krammes made several attempts to walk away toward a home. He also allegedly asked for his mother at one point, and police say he resisted being taken into custody several times.

After police eventually took him into custody, Krammes was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-East in Pottsville for a blood alcohol test. Last week, police say the result of that test showed Krammes had a BAC of 0.328.

Further investigation revealed to police that Krammes has had five prior DUI convictions between 2011 and 2023. He’s also been found guilty of driving on a DUI-suspended license three times in the past.

Police have charged Krammes with felony fourth offense DUI (highest rate), DUI unsafe driving, and attempting to elude police. Krammes has also been charged with misdemeanor counts of a third offense for having a BAC of 0.02 and driving on a DUI suspended license.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 27 at District Court in Orwigsburg.
