A Schuylkill County man was jailed after he allegedly pistol-whipped a woman and threw hot soup on her during an argument last week.
Aaron Lorah, 37, of Ringtown, is being held at Schuylkill County Prison for $25,000 bail on misdemeanor charges of simple assault and making terroristic threats as well as a summary offense for harassment following an alleged incident on Dec. 5.
State Police say they were called by a woman who said Lorah struck her in the face with a pistol during an argument in their vehicle. Lorah, she said, also allegedly threw hot soup on her during this row. This happened along Main St. in Shenandoah.
When Lorah dropped the victim of this alleged incident at her house in Ringtown, she said he threatened to come back and kill her.
Police say the victim had visible injuries and signs of a struggle. She had a swollen right eye and had an “unknown soup product” in her hair and on her clothes. She told police that she’d been struck multiple times in the face during the altercation.
Lorah was contacted by phone and reportedly agreed to meet police at the State Police-Frackville barracks. He arrived at about 6:40 p.m. on Dec. 5 and was placed under arrest. He reportedly agreed to speak to police at the barracks.
During the interview, Lorah claimed that the victim of his alleged attakc was mad at him because he threw out her Vicodin. He said she’s addicted to them. Lorah also claimed that during their argument earlier that day, she hit him with a soda can and slapped him in the face with two slices of pizza.
Regarding the pistol, Lorah told police that he doesn’t carry a gun and that a picture of one she showed to police was actually an Airsoft gun. He claimed that his Airsoft gun wasn’t on him at the time of their earlier altercation.
Police say they searched Lorah’s vehicle at the barracks and found no presence of a gun, Airsoft or not. They did, however, say they found “food product strewn throughout” the front of the vehicle.
Lorah has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Dec. 18 before Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker.
