A Schuylkill County woman is facing charges following an alleged bar fight late last month.
Police in Tamaqua say they were called to Hiller’s Hideaway, on E. Union St., shortly before 2 a.m. on Nov. 27 for a reported fight.
A female patron at the bar reportedly told police that she’d been assaulted by an unknown woman wearing a white plaid jacket. At the time of her report, the female patron was holding a handful of hair which she said had been pulled from her head during the assault.
The woman also told police that this unknown woman had struck her at least 10 times using both of her fists.
During the assault, the victim also reported her eyeglasses were broken, which she valued at $308.
Police say their investigation led them Nicole Wronski, 33, of New Ringgold, as their primary suspect.
Initially, police say, Wronski denied being at the bar that night but then said she was defending herself from the victim.
On Tuesday, police say they obtained video footage from inside the bar which reportedly shows the victim walking up to Wronski and then Wronski hitting the victim in the neck. Wronski then allegedly grabs the victim by the hair and punches her several times with closed fists.
Charges of simple assault, harassment, and disorderly conduct have been filed against Wronski. A preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer has been scheduled for February.
