US Rep. Dan Meuser (PA-9) is hosting a telephone town hall this evening. The focus of the event is financial fraud and scams.
The telephone town hall begins at 5:30 p.m.
Meuser will be joined by Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday and Troy Peters, president and CEO of Jonestown Bank & Trust. They’ll be giving information on how families, seniors, small businesses, veterans, local governments, and others can protect themselves against more sophisticated financial scams.
Topics covered will include: How to spot and prevent scams, What to do if you’re targeted by a financial fraud scheme, and How to verify a suspicious message and where to report it.
To participate in the town hall, call 877-229-8493 (PIN: 118349).
“Scammers are becoming more deceptive and persistent in their attempts to target the American people,” Meuser says. “As Chairman of the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee, I’m working with state officials, law enforcement, and the private sector to combat them.”
