Schuylkill County Man Goes on Beer Run But Allegedly Stole It, Then Covered His Plate During Getaway

Suspect walked into beer cooler and then left with three 12-packs

A Schuylkill County man is once again facing a retail theft charge and once again, he did something with his license plate as he made his getaway.

State Police say they were contacted by management at Sheetz in North Manheim Township earlier this month regarding an incident that allegedly occurred on Nov. 13, at about 2 p.m.

Management at Sheetz says a man – later identified as Herbert Imbimbo Jr., 65, of Pottsville – parked his blue Ford Escape in a handicapped spot outside the store.

Once inside the store, Imbimbo hits the beer cooler and grabs 12-packs of Yuengling Flight, Heineken, and Corona beers. He then exits the store without paying.

Imbimbo then removes an item from a hoodie pocket and places it, a blue cloth, over his license plate in an attempt to cover it. He then drives out of the parking lot.

The total value of the beer Imbimbo allegedly stole was just shy of $50.

This incident, if true, mirrors Imbimbo’s actions somewhat in another recent retail theft incident at Walmart.

In that incident, back on June 4, Imbimbo and his dog enter the store and select numerous items before exiting without paying.

When he was confronted by store employees about his suspected theft, Imbimbo hurls profanities at them and then allegedly ripped the license plate off his vehicle and then drives away.

Imbimbo, for this latest incident, is now facing a felony retail theft charge. He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge AJ Serina, who set unsecured bail at $15,000. No preliminary hearing has been scheduled.
