The Orwigsburg Area Business and Professional Association (OABPA) is thrilled to announce the return of one of Schuylkill County’s most cherished holiday traditions – the Orwigsburg Festival of Lights, on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. in Center Square.
Free and open to the public, this beloved event transforms the heart of downtown Orwigsburg into a glowing winter wonderland, bringing together families, neighbors, and visitors to celebrate the season with twinkling lights, live entertainment, and joyful holiday spirit.
A Night Full of Festivities
The evening begins with special guests Frozen’ s Elsa and Anna, welcoming children and families at 4:30 p.m. Local performers take the stage throughout the night, including the Blue Mountain Band and Blue Mountain Chorus, filling the air with favorite holiday classics.
At approximately 6:10 p.m., the tree-lighting ceremony will illuminate Center Square, followed by Santa’s grand arrival by horse-drawn carriage at 6:15 p.m. Families can enjoy carriage rides around town, delicious treats from local food and craft vendors, and a variety of activities throughout the evening.

A Celebration of Local Togetherness
“This night captures what makes Orwigsburg special – our people,” said Lila Smith, OABPA President. “It’s a chance to celebrate community, creativity, and kindness under the glow of the lights. Every smile and every light represent the spirit of our town.”

The Festival of Lights takes place rain or shine in Center Square, Downtown Orwigsburg, with plenty of family-friendly activities, food, and entertainment throughout the evening. Guests are encouraged to arrive early, dress warmly, and bring their holiday spirit!
