State Police they’re investigating a case of suspected fraud involving a local woman suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
According to information released by the Schuylkill Haven barracks, an Auburn woman reportedly fell victim to a massive theft of her money.
The victim’s son reportedly told police that an unidentified person cashed about $180,000 in checks from his mother’s bank account.
Suspect Tried Cashing Fraudulent Check
In another case of suspected financial fraud, State Police say they were called to a home on Deturksville Rd. last week for a report of an attempted theft.
Police say they learned that an unidentified person tried cashing a fraudulent check worth $75,000.
Police say their investigation remains open on this case.
