A Schuylkill County woman is charged with aggravated assault after police say she pinned a man between two vehicles during a domestic altercation, severely fracturing his leg.
State Police say they were called to Fox Hollow Rd. in North Manheim Township on Monday night, shortly after 10, for a reported domestic dispute.
Upon their arrival, police say they saw a man laying on the ground at the edge of the driveway. He told police that he and Kaitlyn Mabry, 35, had gotten into an argument that night.
He said he got into his vehicle and tried to leave the scene but Mabry jumped behind his vehicle, preventing him from leaving. He said he got out of the vehicle and their argument continued.
That’s when, he said, Mabry hopped into her car. He said he got in front of it. Mabry allegedly started to back up and then put it in Drive and drove toward him.
The man said his right leg was pinned between two vehicles.
He was transported to Geisinger-St. Luke’s Hospital for immediate treatment of his leg injury before getting airlifted to St. Luke’s University Hospital in Bethlehem.
The preliminary diagnosis, police say, is that the man suffered a fractured tibia in which his muscles and tendons were exposed.
Mabry was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer on a first-degree felony aggravated assault charge as well as a misdemeanor count of simple assault and a summary offense for harassment.
Bayer set unsecured bail at $50,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for District Court in Orwigsburg on Nov. 18.
